A Day to Remember!

Today was definitely a day we all will remember. We decided for our last day we would take a trip to the top of a mountain to see a glacier. Last time Bob and I went, the mountain was clouded over and we didn't get to see the view. Today it was clear and beautiful!
We went out with David and Jennie and took the bus into town to catch the train. This bus was super busy and crowded. I sat with Alex as everyone else stood. The elderly woman next to me quickly establish that I only knew English. However, this did not stop her from talking to me throughout the trip. It was a long 35 mins.
The bus was late, which is very uncharacteristic for Swiss transportation. Jennie and David had 5 mins to get tickets for our train to the mountain. We waited on the platform and Jennie made it, but David didn't. He got delayed getting his ticket and didn't make the train. He was able to catch the next train and meet us at our connection which was about 3 mins between his arrival and our next train leaving. Luckily he made it.
We went up the mountain and it was so clear and awesome! We got some lunch and ate outside and then went hiking in the snow. Michele, Wes, Alex, and David hiked around the mountains while the rest of us took in the views and snapped photos. I got a zoom of them by the glacier and a distant shot to show how far they went! We also saw a few people with the Ice Ax that Bob picked up at the Army Surplus store this week! It was amazing the last time we visited and truly awesome this time.
There were many Tourists at top of the mountain because of the gondola and the great views. This was a little intense... the smell of B.O., fried foods, and cameras was a little intense. Some people asked to take photos of Alex because she was cute, then Michele and Wes because they had hiking gear.... and then some Indian lady just took my hiking sticks for her picture. At least the husband asked for bob's. It was a very strange exchange of cultures on the top of this mountain.
The trip down was similar. We decided to walk down for the last part.... and stop for a beer on the way. The views were great, but we had to hustle to meet our train.
As we all ran to catch the fast train to our connection.... we some how lost David again. He some how got separated and went to get snacks as we ran for the train. So David, our drinks and candy were one one train and we were on the next. We again waited to meet him in Luzern before we headed home.
Finally we were all together and made it home safely. This was a great trip with a very memorable last day! I wish I didn't have to return to work and could stay even longer!
