Swiss-French
Today we went to visit a city in the French area of Switzerland called Lausanne. The trip got a bit delayed as we took the bus to the train station. We had carefully planned our trip with David which was lucky, because we had to quickly reschedule it as we arrived to the train station 2 minutes after our train left. Anyway, we were able to get some sandwiches before we headed off, so we wouldn't have to buy lunch in town. It is a rainy day today. The worst weather of our trip. We arrived in Lausanne, went to our first destination and sat down for lunch. It then started raining and never stopped! We were able to snap some photos in a cathedral but that was about it. The architecture was definitely different, I would say probably French Influenced. But we didn't get the camera out in the rain to snap shots. The people in this town were a bit strange too. This city has a lot of Night Clubs and I think therefore a lot of people who do the drugs. Freaky people in this place. If the weather had been better we could have seen France! Alas, it was not.
We left early to head into Zurich for shopping. We went to the train station and it was great. It was several levels and very large. We ended up buying some bags in this very interesting store. The building was stacked semi containers. The bags are a bit trendy, but they are made from recycled material and Bob and I both got one to remember our trip. They are called Freitag Bags.
Tomorrow is our last day.... it has gone by so fast. I won't mind being home but we really have enjoyed our adventures and think there is so much left to do!
