Ride to work

Yesterday on my way to the bus, I saw my Japanese friend. This is the guy who writes some letters and sends me gifts. It was random to see him, but it was nice to see someone I knew. This guy is probably in his mid-50s and just some nice guy.
So today started out like usual.
I was in line for the bus and again my Japanese friend comes up. This time to offer me a ride to work. It seemed a bit strange, but I went along with it.
I ended up getting to work about 15 mins faster.
But we made some plans to meet on Saturday so I can meet his whole family.
His daughter just has a baby.
I think it would be nice to sleep on Saturday, but I feel that I should visit with this nice guy.

Three Good things:
1. I finally had some sleep. I slept about 6 hours only waking up once.
2. I found some store that sells HUGE pieces of cake. Sumi-san and I will go on Sunday!
3. I had a real fuji apple. The fruit here is great. I mean I paid $2.10 for this apple but it was the best! Japan fruit is good.

Three Strange things:
1. My bathroom has some sign in English to keep bathroom doors closed because steam could set of the fire alarm. I think this is strange and a bit of a liability.
2. The fries at lunch are served cold. I had some today. They aren't delicious, but I at them anyway.
3. The shrimp comes whole... Today, I ate the whole thing, eyes, legs, shell and all.... it was strange texture and gross to my belly. I had just gotten over the shark fin!

I am home early and I think I will take some time to relax!

I'm sorry for you and your belly that you ate that shrimp. But I'm very impressed that you did it. Eyeballs creep me out in general, so I don't think I could handle that.

Oh my goodness Robin you sure are a culinary adventuress. I couldn't bear to place a whole shrimp in my mouth. Your belly should have been in revolt. I do admire your willingness to experience the local cuisine. Take care and see you soon. xoxoxox Amy
