Lost in Translation
So today went as to be expected. We got to work all by ourselves... i am not sure my co-worker would have made it without me. And we trained all day. I was looking forward to dinner all day. We had plans to go with my manager and another TTC guy. We finished training on schedule at 6 and waited for our manager to come get us for dinner. It was 640 and he didn't come. He wasn't answering his cell phone (by the way there is only one landline phone per group.... by the time we found it we had 3 people helping us dial the phone) and TTC guy wasn't either.
Eventually Manager answered and came to get us... We asked if we were still going to dinner and he replied that TTC guy had left and my manager couldn't make it to dinner. I was sad to miss a good meal, but happy to get back to the hotel! But what he was really saying was that we were going to be sent in a Taxi to the resturant where TTC guy should still be waiting.... I got brian to front for the cab. We finally get to TTC guy waiting in the resturant, and then find out that he was with the Manager when he called our Trainer... who said we had left. Um, where would we go? They thought to the resturant.... which was agreed to by TTC guy and Manager.
Dinner was good. I haven't had a good meal since Qdoba before my flight. My stomach didn't have room but I ate until it hurt because i don't know when i will have a good meal again. It was norther indian food. It was all cooked!
The commute sucks, I hope to get home before 10pm some day. It is 1.5 hour commute. THat is 3 hours per day, 15 hours per week, and 60 for my stay. I don't like it. The Japanese commuters sleep on the train and buses. They sleep sitting and standing and all wake up befor their stop. It is amazing! Brian keeps sleeping on the train. I am not his mother, nor am i responsible for him, i don't want to wake him up. I woke him up yesterday because of the manager, and today to give him a warning. I told him that I wouldn't expect him to keep waking me up, and i will not keep waking him up. I told him that i would do it one more time otherwise he can continue to ride the train all night.
Things I learned
- The toilet seats at work are heated.
- The vending machine make a fun game. Each item has a picture is 3-4 buttons. I like to select at radom to see what i get. Mostly it is cream, no cream, but there are 4 buttons for the pop too.....
- People don't where sunglasses here
- There is no need for towels in the restrooms. The air dryer is like what we use for cars in automatic car wash. Very strong!

You don't like the air-blower? :)
I don't even remember telling you to write the things that you like and learned...but man was that a good idea. I am a genius.
Oh yeah and let that stupid co-worker sleep through his stop. you owe him nothing...don't even sit by him so won't be able to decide...
It's funny how we're amused by vending machines :)
You sound very busy.
